February News Round-up
February has been an exciting month for Interior Goods Direct, and we’ve been busy working on several exciting projects that we think are worth sharing:
Make-A-Wish Room Make-Over
This month we donated a white venetian wooden blind to the “Make A Wish” room make-over project, led by interior designer Ursula Wesselinght. The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a charity that grants wishes to children with life-threatening conditions. The project was for a four year old boy called Jack, who suffers from polymicrogyria and which means he is confined to a wheelchair.
Ursula is currently designing and coordinating Jack’s room make-over, which started on the 18th February in Swanley, Kent. You can read all about Ursula and the Make A Wish project on her blog: room-to-bloom.com
Wakefield Hospice
Wooden Blinds Direct is partnering with the Wakefield Hospice, a hospice which provides the highest level of symptom management and care for people who have advanced active, progressive and life threatening illnesses. Wooden Blinds Direct have committed to helping the local charity in 2013 – if you would like to find out how you can help click here
Commercial News
We have supplied more than 300 new decora uniview roller blinds to Gatwick Airport, who are working on building a new terminal. All the roller blinds were made in-house here in Wakefield.
Blackout Blinds
On Sunday the 31st of March 2013 British Summer Time officially begins. This means the sun will be rising earlier each day, which can often be a problem for people working nights, parents with children, or restless sleepers.
We would like to remind everyone that the best way to keep light from shining through windows is by investing in new window covering. We sell quality blackout roller blinds at competitive prices.
Custom Curtains
We have produced an eyelet curtain of Tom Meighan, the lead singer from Kasabian, promoting the new Umbro England away shirt at a gig in Paris. Find out more about it: Click Here
