In what is one of the most exciting recent events in window furnishings, two luxury brands and one honoured establishment have teamed up to create something truly special.

Little Greene is an independent manufacturer of luxury paints who strive to be as environmentally and ethically conscious as possible. They date back to 1773 when they were founded just outside of Manchester as the Little Greene Dye Works of Collyhurst Wood. This site was perfect as it was at the confluence of the Rivers Irk and Irwell, which meant there was plenty of fast flowing, clean water available.

Little Greene use traditional methods and materials to produce their paints and pride themselves on their depth of colour. They contain up to 40% more pigment than other ordinary paints, and more pigment means more character. They have undertones that shift subtly in different lights revealing character that was previously hidden.

The English Heritage is a foundation which works to ensure that England’s past is researched and remembered properly. They aim to protect and promote England’s incredible history through historic buildings and sites. They value authenticity above all things, and do copious research to separate fantasy from fact. This way they can show England as it happened in all its fascinating history.

Decorshade have been making Blinds and other window furnishings for over 50 years. They have a reputation for innovation and constantly ensuring their products are of the highest quality. This helps to make them industry leaders in Wooden Blinds.

Little Greene and English Heritage worked together to produce a range of 128 colours that have been used during key points in England’s history; from the Georgian period right up to the 1970’s. These colours were inspired by historical documents and images of wallpaper and design found in English Heritage’s archives. The collection is being called the Colours of England. Decorshade then teamed up with Little Greene and using the Colours of England produced a range of simply stunning, and perfectly English Wooden Venetian Blinds.

The range, which can be viewed here, comes in 9 wonderful shades and colours with matching ribbons. They exude luxury and high design. The subtle Juniper Ash is warming and bold without being overpowering. The Rolling Fog reminds us of early English Mornings: cold, but crisp and calm.
