These guides provide you with information on how to measure and fit your wooden venetian blinds.
|Measuring Guide||Measuring Guide|
Please note that made to measure blinds are made within a 5mm manufacturer tolerance. The actual drop is dependent upon the size of the slat, we will however make it is as close as possible to your measurements.
Take measurements at the narrowest point on the width (you may have tiles on the bottom half of your window recess) then deduct for clearance. Made to measure and cut to width blinds in this range are cut down from standard width blinds.
Made to measure blinds
A product which requires the exact width to be typed in the box is 'Made-to-Measure' and cannot be returned under our normal terms and conditions.
Fixing & Controls
The blinds are easily fitted using universal brackets which can be face fixed to the window, wall or lintel. All necessary brackets and fittings are included. The raise control is on the right and the tilt control on the left.
Matching pelmet valance
Matching pelmet valance - The wooden pelmet will be left at the standard size so it can be used to cover the metal head rail if fitted outside the window recess. The pelmet is mitred on one end only. This means that the wooden pelmet will need cutting down. This can easily be done with a fine wood saw or hack saw.
These blinds are cut from standard blinds so the ends will be unfinished/painted. This is not normally a problem as the ends are not visible when placed inside a window recess.
Genuine Real wood blinds – we only use the finest quality basswood for our blinds. Basswood is a real wood with fine grain, ideally suited for blinds and grown from sustainable forests. The wood is coated with a UV stain or paint which prevents fading even in the strongest sunlight.
Beware of Faux wood blinds which are cheap plastic imitations of wooden blinds. Faux wood blind slats tend to sag on warm and sunny days spoiling the look of your window.
Our blinds incorporate a strong steel head rail which will not twist and sag like PVC head rails used on some faux wood blinds.
A separate genuine real wood valance is used to cover the head rail and gives the perfect finishing touch to your blind. Some cheaper blinds do not have a separate valance which means you can see the head rail.
Proven quality – we have been selling our blinds for over ten years so we are proud to say our wooden blinds are the best and most reliable on the market.
It is important to us that we don’t have a negative impact on the environment, which is why all the wood used to make our products comes from an FSC certified source. We work with the Forest Stewardship Council to ensure that we only purchase wood that has come from well-managed forests.
One minor paint blemish / fault on one of the timber blind slots - just not enough to go through the botheration of packaging and posting back and awaiting a replacement
