Aluwood Wood-look Aluminium Blinds Installation Guide
If you want to alter the size of your blind please follow the instructions below.
Reducing The Width
Up to 76mm (3") can be cut from each end.
1. Measure the window recess width.
2. Mark the length less 12mm (1/2") on the headrail, slats and bottom rail. Remove end plugs from the top and bottom rail before cutting.
3. Use a fine hacksaw to cut the headrail and bottom rail.
4. Sharp scissors are recommended for sutting the slats. A very neat appearance is achieved by cutting straight across each slat
5. Replace the end plugs and the blind width is now suitable for your recess.
Reducing The Drop
It is not essential to remove surplus slats as your blind operates at any height.
If you wish to customise your blind it is easiest achieved with the blind hanging in position.
A. Carefully remove bottom rail buttons with a knife or screwdriver.
B. Untie lift cords and ladder cords. Pull cord ends up through holes in slats to desired position. Remove bottom rail and excess slats.
C. Replace bottom rail on to the ladders nearest the point of which the bottom of blind is to be. Insert control cords back through holes in the bottom rail and re-knot. Cut off the excess ladder cords leaving about 25mm (1") of end. Insert these ends into the bottom rail hole and replace the bottom rail buttons.
Your blind is now ready to use.
