Proud to support the magic at Roundabout!

We may have mentioned it before but, here at Wooden Blinds Direct, we’re very proud of our Yorkshire roots and are always on the lookout for ways to support good causes in the area.

Recently we’ve been very pleased to have the chance to work with Roundabout, a youth housing charity that provides a range of support for young, homeless people, in and around Sheffield.

Roundabout’s services

Roundabout offers advice to those struggling to manage money and debt, peer-to-peer education on homelessness and housing issues, and emergency to medium-term accommodation to help young people gain the skills to live independently.

The St Barnabas Road Hostel is home to Roundabout’s training room, where young people are taught life skills, from cooking on a budget to sexual health and alcohol awareness. It also boasts a suite of computers for the use of hostel residents but was in need of some blinds, to keep the weather out and the sun’s glare from the screens!

We were more than happy to help and are told the blinds are now in place and look great!

Amy Casbolt, Roundabout’s Fundraising Co-ordinator, sent us this message:

“Roundabout would like to thank Wooden Blinds Direct for their generosity. Their donation means we can keep our costs low and save money vitally needed to support young homeless people in Sheffield.”
